Can you still get pregnant after having sex and taking birth control pills?

Patient's question:

I had sex and then ate Yuting within one hour. Is it still possible to get pregnant????

Doctor's answer:

Master the timing: Those using medication methods should take emergency contraception pills within 72 hours (the sooner, the better) after contraceptive failure or unprotected sex; those using intrauterine devices should have them placed within 5 days after intercourse.
Master the medication method: Taking emergency contraception pills after a meal or before bed can reduce side effects such as nausea and vomiting. If vomiting occurs within 2 hours of taking the pills, take an additional dose of the same amount of emergency contraception pills and also take an anti-emetic medication. After taking emergency contraception pills, no further unprotected sex should occur during this menstrual cycle. If further intercourse occurs, conventional contraception methods should be used. If menstruation is delayed, seek medical attention for a pregnancy test to determine if emergency contraception failed.
