Patient's question:
Medical history: In 2004, a left fallopian tube cyst was discovered. The doctor suggested surgery, but since it wasn't growing, surgery wasn't necessary, so it was left untreated.Past treatment and effectiveness: Two years ago, I had some abdominal pain and went to the hospital for a checkup, but no illness was found. It was probably due to the cyst. The imaging showed that the cyst hadn't grown and was still the same size, though it seemed slightly smaller. I was prescribed some traditional Chinese medicine, but I didn't take it consistently and also didn't follow up for a checkup.
What help is needed: I now want to have a child and don't want to undergo surgery. Could you please advise which medicine can cure the cyst?
Doctor's answer:
If you have an ovarian cyst, you can take 30 grams of Salvia miltiorrhiza, 15 grams each of Coix seed, kelp, and laminaria, 12 grams of Angelica sinensis, 10 grams each of Poria cocos, Bupleurum, Curcuma, Cyperus rotundus, Persicae Semen, Radix Paeoniae Rubra, and Luffa cylindrica. Take it twice a day. One month constitutes a course of treatment, and you should be better within two months. For adnexal cysts with a diameter of less than 5 centimeters and no evidence of a tumor, they are often functional cysts and can be closely monitored. This means having a check-up every 2-3 months, and the follow-up interval can be adjusted based on the situation. If the cyst diameter is greater than 5 centimeters, it is more likely an ovarian tumor and generally requires surgical treatment.
Hello, based on your description, you have an ovarian cyst. In this case, surgery is not necessarily required. You can currently use medication for conservative treatment for a period. If the cyst still grows after medication and exceeds 5 cm, surgical treatment may then be considered.
