What can be done about yellow face?

Patient's question:

All symptoms: Are you a gynecologist? I'm 22 years old, and my period has never come on its own. It only comes when I take medication, and it stops when I don't. My face has always been quite yellow since I was a child. How can this be treated?
Onset time and cause: Unclear
Treatment history: I've eaten nutritious foods, but there's been no change.
Help needed: Please help me solve my worries and difficulties.

Doctor's answer:

This may be due to both congenital and acquired factors, and the body needs comprehensive regulation. For example, you could drink some papaya, Job's tears, Chinese yam, and lotus seed soup, or add some red dates, longan, and goji berries to enrich your blood. In your daily diet, eat more fruits to supplement vitamins, such as kiwis and oranges.
Drug-induced skin jaundice: Long-term use of drugs containing yellow pigments, such as mephenytoin and furan derivatives, can also cause the skin to turn yellow. In severe cases, it may manifest as scleral jaundice.
Food-induced skin jaundice: Vegetables and fruits rich in carotene, such as carrots, pumpkin, orange juice, amaranth, cabbage, and mangoes, can cause carotenemia if consumed excessively, leading to yellowing of the skin. The palms and soles are most affected, followed by the face and behind the ears. In severe cases, it may affect the entire skin but generally does not occur in the sclera or oral mucosa.
I hope this can help you~
