Features: The 2005 Zhongkao (senior high school entrance examination) had just ended, and the next round of the exam was brought up on the agenda by a large number of candidates and parents. Many readers in Beijing have recently called and written to ask if we could publish a book of Beijing Zhongkao simulation tests. Faced with their preference, we dare not be a bit negligent. To support Beijing candidates in their round of review, the Zhongkao Test Research Team of Beijing Tianli Examination Information Network, in collaboration with the Examination Research Center of the National Learning Science Research Association, organized a large number of experts to sort out and analyze nearly 100 sets of simulation tests from various districts and counties in Beijing. Based on a thorough comparison and summary of the content, question types, quantity, scoring, difficulty coefficients, and of the tests from different regions, the most representative and excellent papers were selected and compiled into this book. When using this book, please note:
1. The round of review is more focused on reviewing basic textbook knowledge, supplemented by a small number of exercises for consolidation. The book only selects 12 representative simulation tests from the newest ones for candidates to use as a self-assessment for review.
2. Since candidates from experimental regions of the Basic Education Curriculum Reform will account for one-third of all examinees in 2006, the, format, and themes of the reform-oriented Zhongkao will certainly have a significant impact on the creation of local Zhongkao tests in 2006. To help candidates become more familiar with the new Zhongkao, we have selected one reform-oriented Zhongkao test from each subject in the book.
3. According to your actual review needs, the English edition of this book is accompanied by an audio tape for listening exercises. The tape is read by American experts, and both pronunciation and speed meet the requirements of the newest Zhongkao.
To make it convenient for readers to use, this book is designed as a detachable test, ready to use as soon as it is taken out. We believe this book will become a helpful companion for Zhongkao candidates!
