Features: Since the introduction of the three major world professional Go tournaments—“Ying Cup,” “Fujitsu Cup,” and “Dongyang Securities Cup”—a new wave of Go fever has swept across China. Hosting the National Youth Go Championship is just one ripple of this wave. Participants come from all over the country. Go clubs across the nation have become popular destinations. It has become a widely accepted belief that teaching children Go can develop their intelligence. Learning Go requires extensive practice. However, it is regrettable that among the existing beginner Go books, it is difficult to find one that is suitable for children to learn and practice Go problems. Go knowledge can generally be divided into two categories—concrete practical knowledge and abstract theoretical knowledge. At the beginner level, for children who are young and have weaker comprehension skills, learning Go should primarily focus on practical experience. A large number of basic knowledge falls under the category of what should be memorized. Therefore, doing a variety of Go practice problems repeatedly is a simple and effective learning approach. Based on years of teaching children and teenagers Go, the author has compiled some after-school practice exercises for children to complete on their own. These exercises can reinforce the knowledge they have learned and are highly effective. Building on this foundation, the author has written this series of books. This book uses simplified text explanations, diagrams, and minimal or no text. It presents the vast majority of Go situations that beginners might encounter in various problem formats, allowing younger children to avoid the frustration of not being able to read or understand the text. By solving these problems, children can systematically and comprehensively master the basic knowledge of Go.
