Features: What is sketching? Sketching is a monochrome painting that uses tools such as charcoal, pencils, pens, etc., to depict the structure and light and shadow of objects with various types of lines. Sketching is the foundation of all painting and design, and as an art form, it holds an independent status and value. It uses single-color lines to express things in the intuitive world and convey the author's thoughts and emotions. Unlike other painting styles that emphasize color, sketching focuses on the depiction of structure and form. Originally, sketching served as a tool for painting and sculpture, but later, due to its fluid, rich, and aesthetically pleasing form, it developed into an independent art. The elements of sketching are lines. Its charm lies in the way painters use lines to distinguish between three-dimensional and two-dimensional forms, employing language such as single-color surfaces, color and shadow, object structure, the disappearance and interruption of boundaries. Sketching uses a variety of tools, such as charcoal pencils, graphite pencils, chalk, brushes, and pens. The choice of tools depends on the artistic effect the painter wishes to achieve.
