Features: As a tool-oriented discipline focused on application, socio-economic statistics is a mandatory professional basic course for economics and management majors in universities, demonstrating its significant value and role. However, years of practical teaching experience have made us aware of the common shortcomings in current socio-economic statistics textbooks: overly complex theoretical explanations and insufficient practical applications and case studies. This may result in students being unable to apply their knowledge to solve real-world statistical problems after graduation, leading to the inefficiency of statistical education. We have always believed that the teaching objectives for socio-economic statistics in economics and management should emphasize cultivating students' practical application skills based on mastering fundamental principles. Recognizing these shortcomings in existing textbooks and our understanding of the teaching goals, we embarked on compiling this textbook with clear theoretical explanations and abundant practical application cases, aiming to better align with socio-economic realities and provide more effective guidance and support for students' development of practical skills.
