Publish Date: 2005-08-01
Features: The differences between classical Chinese and modern Chinese are reflected not only in the use of nouns and function words but also in classical Chinese grammar and sentence structures. To learn classical Chinese well, it is not enough to understand nouns and function words; one must also grasp the grammatical rules of classical Chinese. This book also analyzes common classical Chinese sentence structures—such as judgment sentences, passive sentences, interrogative sentences, negative sentences, ellipsis sentences, and inverted sentences—through examples from current new textbooks. Classical Chinese has many fixed formats, which we have compiled and briefly introduced, aiming to provide some convenience for middle school students in learning classical Chinese. When analyzing various grammatical and syntactic phenomena, we provide special introductions with typical examples of certain knowledge. Some of these examples are selected from textbooks, but to broaden students' knowledge, we have also selected several representative examples from ancient texts of the pre-Qin period to deepen readers' understanding of this knowledge.
