Patient's question:
My beloved wife, a woman, 34 years old, was diagnosed with uterine leiomyosarcoma in April 2005 and underwent a radical hysterectomy. She has now completed five chemotherapy sessions (the original plan was for eight sessions). However, over ten days ago, while she was cleaning the floor at home, she slipped (but did not fall) and began experiencing pain from her waist to her calf, which was unbearable. CT and ECT scans did not reveal any signs of metastasis, and the preliminary diagnosis was piriformis syndrome. She started receiving corticosteroid injections, physical therapy, and massage, but there has been no significant improvement. Now, she has applied a Chinese herbal patch, but it has not shown any noticeable effect. I sincerely request that all the experts help me find a solution. Thank you.Doctor's answer:
??????The symptoms of uterine leiomyosarcoma are non-specific and similar to those of general female genital tumors, making preoperative diagnosis difficult. A history of uterine fibroids, rapid uterine enlargement, especially after menopause not only fails to shrink but continues to grow, irregular vaginal bleeding around menopause or in young girls accompanied by uterine enlargement, patients who have previously received radiotherapy, sudden uterine enlargement with abnormal vaginal bleeding; or accompanied by symptoms such as abdominal pain, should consider the possibility of uterine sarcoma. Uterine enlargement with polypoid, lobulated necrotic tissue at the cervix should be considered as the possibility of endometrial stromal sarcoma and malignant mixed müllerian tumor.
