Dunhuang. Ethnicity. Language (Essays on Sinology Worldwide)

Author: (Japanese) Takada Tokio & Zhong Chong
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2005-12-01
Features: The book titled Dunhuang · Ethnicity · Language not only includes articles discussing the aforementioned themes but also adds several research papers on topics such as the "Five Clans Theory," the Biography of Huichao, the Yupian, and typesetting workers, totaling twenty articles. In summary, all the selected articles in this book are related to the three themes of Dunhuang, ethnicity, and language. The publication dates range from the early 1980s to recent years, spanning many years. Some of the papers may have diminished in academic value, but considering that such in-depth research is still scarce in related fields, these articles still hold certain value and are included in this publication. Most of the articles in this book were translated by Zhong Chong and Chen Jie, who were studying at the Kyoto University Graduate School. Among them, those translated by Zhong Chong are particularly numerous. Additionally, two articles borrowed translated drafts that were previously published in Chinese domestic magazines. During this collection, some obvious errors in these translations were corrected, and additional terminology was added. Here, we also express deep gratitude to the translators for their hard work.
