Author's Viewpoint: New industrialization is a historical process in which countries and regions, under the guidance of the scientific development concept, achieve synergy among informatization, industrialization, and urbanization, while ensuring coordinated development of society, economy, and ecology. It represents a transformation from a semi-agricultural and semi-industrial society to an industrial society, an information society, or an industrial-information society. The unity of informatization and industrialization, the unity of sustainable development and leapfrog development, the unity of qualitative transformation and qualitative optimization, and the unity of commonality and individuality are the essential characteristics of new industrialization. New industrialization is informatization-driven industrialization, resource-integrating industrialization, industry-coordinated industrialization, urban-rural interactive industrialization, regionally coordinated industrialization, and comprehensively developed industrialization. It is a concrete embodiment of the scientific development concept, a major shift in China's industrial development model and path, and an industrialization path based on sustainable development and leapfrog progress.
The 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed the path of new industrialization, marking a significant theoretical innovation in China's exploration of industrialization. This book is grounded in the basic principles of Marxist political economy and guided by the discussions on industrialization and modernization in Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, and the "Three Represents" Theory. It employs historical materialism and dialectical materialism as research methods, while also drawing on relevant ideas, theories, and experiences from the industrialization processes of developed countries. Against the backdrop of economic globalization, the new technological revolution, and the era of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, this book conducts an in-depth and systematic study and exploration of China's industrialization path.
