Features: The selection of this series of medium-length works first emphasizes, of course, artistic quality, because literature is literature after all, and only artistic quality can maintain its final dignity. However, under this premise, the series will prioritize works that express the "silent voices." In contemporary China, there still exist the "subordinate" class as described by Gramsci, and there are still people struggling to survive. In the era when urban white-collar culture and the discourse space of the middle class have been established and expanded, they are the marginalized groups. In the sense of literature, being expressed is also a "politics of recognition." The subjects of these works confirm the concerns of these writers, as well as their anxieties and confusions. What is more noteworthy is that these works emphasize "populism" and the compassionate sentiments they embody, which, in a sense, express the highest justice of literature. They may not be able to move freely in the cultural market, and the marginal nature of their subjects may determine this. But I believe that this is genuine literature, and genuine literature will forever reside in the hearts of people.
