Features: In the coming years, at what speed and scale should China's power investment proceed to meet the needs of economic development without causing an oversupply of electricity? How do resources, environment, technology, and other factors influence future power investment and the development of the power industry? How should China's power investment be reasonably allocated? Clarifying these issues will help the state formulate effective macro-control policies and power industry development policies, as well as assist power investment enterprises in making scientific investment decisions. To this end, the Institute of Economic System and Management of the National Development and Reform Commission organized the research project "China's Economic Growth and Power Investment." This project is primarily based on the study of the relationship between economic development and power demand, and it researches and argues the relationship between power investment and economic growth during the 11th Five-Year Plan period, as well as the investment scale, structure and strategy of the power industry, power investment layout, and issues related to coal-electric joint ventures and coal-electric joint venture bases. This book is the research outcome of the project.
