The authors of these texts and images all have personal blogs with a significant number of readers and are also close friends who often socialize online and gather at the restaurant in the Songting Hall of Fuxing Park. In the design integration of text and images, we have also tried some small methods inspired by film montage—letting the images speak for themselves and the text for itself, to see if A + B equals C.
Fuxing Park is located on Gaolan Road, covering an area of 88,900 square meters. It was completed in June 1909 and opened in July of the same year, originally named Gujiazhai Park. At that time, it was restricted to French residents, hence the popular name "French Park." In 1944, it was renamed Daxing Park, and in 1946, it was renamed Fuxing Park. Located in the old city, it is one of Shanghai's oldest parks and currently the only well-preserved French-style garden in China. Initially, the park had a symmetrical layout in all directions, but it has undergone several changes over time. The main attractions include the sunken bed flower beds, rose garden, tea flower beds, azalea flower beds, and the Marx and Engels statue square.
Fuxing Park is adjacent to the famous commercial street Huaihai Road. Nearby are historical sites such as Sun Yat-sen's Former Residence, the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Zhou Gongfu, and other revolutionary heritage sites. Together with Fuxing Park, they form a tourist, sightseeing, and leisure destination.
