Your menstrual cycle has always been irregular. What should you do if you want to get pregnant?

Patient's question:

I have used Clomiphene before, but my menstrual cycle has always been irregular. It only became relatively normal after taking Chinese medicine for regulation. Without the medication, it doesn’t work. Two months of testing showed no mature follicles. The left ovary is 2.82.5cm, and the right ovary is 2.92.2cm. The endometrial thickness is 0.3cm, with no polycystic ovary ultrasound findings. No fluid-filled areas were observed in the pelvis.
After taking progesterone, on the second day of my period, the sex hormone levels were: Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) 9.2, Luteinizing hormone (LH) 17.6, Estradiol 81, Progesterone 1.82, Testosterone 0.7, Prolactin 30.63, and Growth hormone 0.301.
I am slim and petite with a poor appetite and digestive issues.

Doctor's answer:

It is likely due to menstrual irregularity. Try regulating your period with traditional Chinese medicine!
Menstrual irregularity refers to abnormal changes in the menstrual cycle, volume, color, and quality of menstruation, as well as systemic disorders associated with it. It is a common condition among women.
The causes of menstrual irregularity include insufficient vital energy, weakened immunity, kidney qi deficiency, invasion by the six evils (pathogenic factors), excessive emotional stress, irregular diet, malnutrition, excessive sexual activity, extreme obesity or thinness, falls and injuries, mechanical stimulation, and systemic diseases, among other factors. These can disrupt the ovaries and endocrine function, leading to emptiness of the Chong and Ren meridians, inability of the blood sea to overflow regularly, and irregular menstruation.
Treatment for menstrual irregularity focuses on regulating the period to address the root cause. Accurate diagnosis is essential, and treatment should be tailored to individual symptoms. If the disease precedes menstrual irregularity, the disease should be treated first, and the period will naturally regulate once the disease is resolved. If menstrual irregularity leads to the disease, the period should be regulated first, and the disease will improve on its own. Traditional medicine employs syndrome differentiation and treatment, using methods such as tonifying the kidneys and spleen, regulating qi and promoting blood circulation to harmonize qi and blood, nourish yin and promote yang growth, strengthen the spleen and stomach, enrich essence and blood, and ensure smooth circulation.
