If the follicular cyst shrinks or does not grow within about two months, the cyst will usually disappear on its own after some time. However, if the cyst continues to grow (larger than 5 centimeters), surgical treatment is necessary. Therefore, after discovering an ovarian cyst, further regular follow-up examinations should be conducted to determine whether it is functional or tumor-related, in order to adopt different treatment methods.
