Features: This volume includes The Collected Works of Hu Shih, Volume IV, On Human Rights, and Recollections of a Southward Journey. The Collected Works of Hu Shih, Volume IV was originally titled Recent Works on Learning by Hu Shih, published by the Commercial Press in Shanghai in December 1935. It was available in both paperback and hardcover, in quarto format. A second edition was released in 1936. The articles included in Recent Works on Learning by Hu Shih were mostly published in newspapers and magazines before, or as prefaces and postfaces in previously published books, with most of them dating from 1930 to 1935. In December 1953, the Far Eastern Book Company in Taipei published a combined edition of The Collected Works of Hu Shih, Volume IV, renaming Recent Works on Learning by Hu Shih as The Collected Works of Hu Shih, Volume IV and removing the appendix of Where Shall We Go? and the preface to On Human Rights. In July 1986, the Yuanliu Publishing Company in Taipei published The Collected Works of Hu Shih, where volumes 15 to 18 included The Collected Works of Hu Shih, Volume IV, with some articles supplemented by comments and annotations added by Hu Shih in his later years.
