Features: The mountainous ethnic groups in Guizhou are characterized by "wide distribution and small clusters." The Luo Lìmù community, dominated by Bouyei people with mixed ethnicities like Miao and Han surrounding it, is one of its typical representatives. With a long history and rich cultural evolution, Luo Lìmù exhibits strong ethnic and regional colors in aspects such as agricultural rice cultivation, small-scale farming, and surname inheritance. From ancient legends about "twelve suns" to contemporary folk root carving development, as well as the brief migration infiltration in the mid-1960s in the form of "sent-down youth," and the traditional folk activities like the "bull sacrifice" that have been preserved and widely revived, all reflect the interactive process of a suburban edge mountain village in central Guizhou, which is continuously influenced by modern urban mainstream culture, between the self-preservation and variation of "indigenous" culture. This book takes the three levels of large, medium, and small in Luo Lìmù as the research background, combining the macro historical and social evolution of central Guizhou, to record, observe, and analyze a side of the economic and cultural development changes of mountainous ethnic groups in Guizhou. The Luo Lìmù Chronicle is both a case study, based on detailed field research data, and strives to present the "particular" within the "general," understanding the "general" through the "particular," integrating the "particular" and "general" into an organic whole, and interpreting the author's perspectives and viewpoints in an objective narrative.
