A Preliminary Introduction to Chinese Philosophy

Author: Li Jinquan / Feng Dawen (editors)
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 1996-07-01
Features: Philosophy, as a product of abstract thinking, is somewhat distant from real life; the philosophy in Chinese history, as a product of abstract thinking by past thinkers, seems even more remote from modern reality. What brings us comfort is that this book, an introduction to Chinese philosophy, was reprinted two years after its publication. Does this indicate that, after the ups and downs of the commercial wave in 1992–1993, people have finally realized that they need a tranquil "home" away from modern reality in their spiritual lives? To help readers read the entire book in a shorter time, the second edition made significant cuts. Since the book was written, the authors have actually experienced many things and have had many new ideas and insights, but there wasn’t enough time to share them with readers through the second edition. Fortunately, many members who participated in writing this book have published their own monographs in recent years. If readers do not want their understanding of Chinese philosophy to stop at the "beginner level," then following up on the other research monographs by the authors of this book might be a delightful experience!
