Features: As the highest level of ethnic higher education, graduate education at Minzu University of China holds a special position in the field of education and has always been cared for and valued by Party organizations and governments at all levels. Since 1978, the scale of graduate education at Minzu University of China has been continuously expanding, and the graduates who have graduated have made significant contributions in their respective positions. In recent years, with the deepening of reform and opening-up and the development of the market economy, especially with the advent of the 21st century, cultivating cross-century talents who are "oriented toward modernization, the world, and the future" has become an urgent strategic task. It is evident that graduate-level talents will inevitably become the backbone of socialist construction and succession in the new century. Therefore, Minzu University of China should respond actively, making every effort to contribute to the social and economic development of ethnic regions and assuming the inescapable responsibility of cultivating high-level professional talents for ethnic minority groups. To train high-level and high-quality talents, it is essential to have high-level teaching materials. Of course, the disciplines, majors, research directions, and curriculum settings for graduate students are being adjusted accordingly. Therefore, the compilation and publication of teaching materials must incorporate the latest research findings, be oriented toward the development of society, economy, science and technology, culture, and education in the 21st century; consider the future quality requirements for talents in ethnic regions; and study the training objectives and talent specifications for each discipline and major under the new circumstances. The content of the teaching materials should deepen fundamental theories, broaden the scope of knowledge, and strive to achieve unity in scientific rigor, systematicity, openness, foresight, and practicality, reflecting high (level), new (perspectives), strict (rigorous structure), accurate (precise conclusions), and applicable (strong applicability). To cultivate cross-century talents and meet the needs of modernization and the market economy, the preparatory group of the Graduate School and the Graduate Department of Minzu University of China are actively raising funds and plan to organize the compilation and publication of key teaching materials suitable for graduate students during the "Nineteen-Ninety-Five Plan" period. This is undoubtedly a highly beneficial initiative.
