Features: Taking joy as the highest level of emotional experience, but joy must be combined with benevolence and sincerity, that is, to combine and unify truth, goodness, and beauty. This is the fundamental characteristic of Confucian thought. This book unites ethics and aesthetics, experiencing the realm of beauty from moral emotions, which is what is called "joy." The title of this book is "Confucian Theory of Music Education," but it mainly focuses on the Confucian music education thought of the pre-Qin and Western Han periods. The reason for this is clearly explained in the last section of the book. This book can be said to be a continuation and deepening of the related research in the author's previously published book "Ritual and Music Education—Research on Pre-Qin Aesthetic Education Thought." Therefore, the two books have many similarities. This is mainly because the research objects of the two books have a significant overlap. Pre-Qin aesthetic education thought is most prominent in Confucianism, with the most discussions, and Confucian aesthetic education thought is concentrated in the music education thought of the pre-Qin to Western Han periods. Moreover, to truly clarify Confucian music education thought, issues such as "the music education of the former kings," "creating rituals and music," and the evolution of the relationship between rituals and music are unavoidable. A more comprehensive review must be conducted in conjunction with the examination of Confucian music education thought. This is undoubtedly very important for clarifying the traditional origins and intellectual and cultural background of Confucian music education thought, and on this basis, correctly understanding and grasping the theoretical achievements and basic characteristics of Confucian teaching thought. However, the previous book focuses on tracing the formation and development of the pre-Qin ritual and music education aesthetic education perspective, while this book focuses on exploring the origin and evolution of Confucian music education concepts,.
