International Economics (Sixth Edition)

Author: Northeast Finance University Press

Publish Date: 1998-04-01
Features: This textbook provides a series of representations of international economics theory and its real-world applications. Both students and teachers appreciate the way economic theory is combined with current events. Therefore, while emphasizing the summary of the latest theoretical developments, the book also highlights the integration of theory and practice as well as its latest applications. Like previous editions, this version is designed for a half-semester or one-semester course for students who have only studied basic economics principles, aiming to comprehensively demonstrate the practical applications of theory. The new material in this edition highlights the real-world applications of economic theory, reflecting the integration of economic theory with new policies in international trade and finance.
Generally, teachers agree on the content of the international economics course, but opinions differ on how to organize the material. This book offers organizational flexibility. The topics on international trade relations are placed before those on international monetary relations, but if the teacher's course begins with monetary theory, the order can be reversed. If not all material is needed, chapters 7–10 and 16–18 can be omitted without harming the overall coherence of the book. Another exciting new feature of this edition is the internet. The internet addresses at the end of each chapter provide URLs for related topics, allowing students to explore real-time, real-world applications of international economics.
