Features: A Winter's Tale is one of Shakespeare's late works. The plot summary is as follows: King Leontes of Sicily suspects his queen Hermione of misconduct with King Polixenes of Bohemia, imprisons her. While in prison, the queen gives birth to a princess, Perdita. The king doubts she is his daughter and orders the infant princess to be abandoned in a wild, foreign wilderness. Perdita is raised by an elderly Bohemian shepherd, and when she grows up, she falls in love with the Bohemian prince. King Polixenes tries to prevent his son from marrying the shepherdess's daughter. The prince and Perdita flee to Sicily together. The elderly shepherd travels to Sicily to reveal Perdita's true origins. The play ends with the two kings reconciling and the family being reunited.
