Mao Zedong, in On Contradiction, cited examples from Lenin to illustrate that things are universally composed of opposing poles, such as:
"In mathematics, positive and negative, differentiation and integration.
In mechanics, action and reaction.
In physics, positive and negative electricity.
In chemistry, atomic combination and decomposition.
In the social sciences, class struggle."
Lenin selected these five examples based on the scientific level of the time and the materials at hand to explain the philosophical proposition that "a unified thing is divided into two opposing parts." Later, Mao Zedong briefly summarized this philosophical proposition as "dividing into two," "the theory of two points," and "bifurcation."
This book represents the chaotic views currently prevalent in China's theoretical circles—it is a collection of these chaotic views and methods. Therefore, a detailed analysis of this work holds extremely important practical significance for clarifying the various confused perspectives in the theoretical field.
