Features: Lei Peihong, an educator and educational thinker. His courtesy name was Binnan. He was from Nanning. In his early years, he joined the Tongmenghui. In 1911, he participated in the Huanghuagang Uprising in Guangzhou. In 1919, he went to the United States for studies and obtained a doctorate from Harvard University before returning to China. He served as an editor for the Nanfeng, the official newspaper of the Guangxi Tongmenghui in Guilin. After the outbreak of the Xinhai Revolution, he returned to Nanning and worked to persuade Lu Rongting to support the independence of Guangxi. Later, he held various positions, including Director of the Education Department of the Guangxi Provincial Office, Principal of the Guangdong First Industrial School, Head of the Economics Department at Shanghai Law University, and Member of the Guangxi Provincial Government Council and Director of the Department of Education. After Chiang Kai-shek betrayed the revolution, he went abroad to study education. He then served as the Director of the Department of Education in Guangxi for four terms, founding the Guangxi Popular Basic Education Research Institute and the Baise Xijiang College. He also served as the head of Guangxi University and the Guangxi Education Science Research Institute. As Director of the Department of Education, he vigorously promoted the Popular Basic Education Movement, established the system of Popular High Schools, and conducted adult education programs. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he held positions such as Standing Committee Member of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, Member of the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Vice Director of the Supervisory Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of the Overseas Chinese Federation of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Member of the National Overseas Chinese Committee. His works include The Essence of the British Constitution, British Adult Education, Danish Adult Education, Essays on Popular Basic Education, and Notes on Guangxi Local Culture Research.
