Features: Thoroughly studying the rich publishing practices of New China over the past 40-plus years, summarizing and elevating them theoretically, and further revealing the laws of socialist publishing work. This is an important condition for accelerating publishing reforms and developing the publishing industry. Since the founding of New China, comrades who have held leadership positions in national publishing administrative authorities have accumulated extensive work experience. Their speeches, reports, and articles have specifically influenced and guided publishing work during certain periods. Although some content may inevitably have historical limitations, overall, they remain a valuable asset reflecting China's publishing history and precious materials for studying contemporary publishing endeavors. Systematically and systematically organizing and publishing them is meaningful for advancing publishing research, theoretically summarizing publishing practices, and accelerating publishing reforms, opening up, and developing the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in publishing. Based on the above understanding, at the suggestion of Comrade Yuan Liang, the Press and Publication Administration Department agreed, and the China Publishing Science Research Institute and the Press and Publication News decided to jointly compile and publish the "China Publishing Forum."
