Features: This new work, as a whole, has the following characteristics: First, it offers fresh insights in theoretical discussions. For example, research on language teaching should not only maintain a philosophical height at the theoretical level but also emphasize practical qualities, making the theoretical outcomes actionable and achieving a unity of philosophy and practice. Second, it pays considerable attention to surveys and experiments. Conducting educational scientific research, like scientific research in other disciplines, requires necessary investigations into objective realities. The "Survey and Reflection Volume" in the manuscript includes several survey reports by eight gentlemen, including Shi Zhongmou from Hong Kong. The surveys cover a wide range of topics and contents, and they highlight two areas that have been previously overlooked yet should not be neglected: one is the language teaching in rural secondary schools, and the other is language teaching at the high school level. Third, it extensively incorporates various new concepts and schools of thought emerging in the new era and tests and develops them in teaching practice. A key characteristic of young scholars is their sensitivity to new things and their skill in absorbing them.
