Features: The term "Contemporary Japan" refers to nearly 60 years of history since Japan's defeat in World War II. Japan is an extremely complex country—it is a highly advanced capitalist nation yet an Eastern ethnicity; its politics is highly democratic yet uniquely expressed; it has achieved miracles of rapid economic growth yet has also experienced long-term stagnation; its culture originates from China yet is vastly different from China; it is our neighboring country yet shares with us too many grievances and resentments. The features of this book are: (1) Comprehensive content. Among the works on Japan written by scholars in China, there are many excellent studies in politics, economy, society, culture, and other aspects. However, books that comprehensively and comprehensively reflect the full picture of contemporary Japan are not many. Based on the full use and reference of existing research results, the author presents to readers a relatively complete work on contemporary Japan. (2) Accurate data. To introduce some knowledge about Japan to general readers and meet their needs, an "Overview" of each chapter is set up in each part to enable general readers to accurately and briefly understand the situation in this field of Japan. (3) Increased research efforts in some areas and the proposal of innovative viewpoints. Every researcher has their own research field and expertise, and we propose innovative viewpoints in these specific areas.
