Features: In September 2003, the third China Finance Forum, organized by the China Finance Research Center of Southwest University of Finance and Economics, was held with the theme "China's Economic and Financial Reform during the Transition Period: Review and Outlook." Focusing on the practical aspects of China's financial and economic reform, the forum explored major theoretical and practical issues arising in the economic and financial fields during China's economic transformation, aiming to contribute to the development of financial economics, theoretical construction, and reform during the transition period. The conference primarily exchanged ideas from two aspects—economics and finance—and covered the following main content: economic transition against the backdrop of globalization; the new stage, characteristics, and tasks of China's economic transition; the driving forces of China's economic transition and social policy reforms; a comparative study of financial system reforms in transition economies; the characteristics and development of China's monetary policy, commercial banks, and securities markets during the transition period; the current macroeconomic situation and policy orientation; institutional innovation in the development of private enterprises and private banks, and more. From among the selected articles, we have compiled this collection to serve the readers. We hope that the publication of this book can act as a catalyst, attracting more people to conduct in-depth research on China's economic and financial issues during the transition period.
