Features: The College English Test Band 4 (CET-4) is a large-scale standardized English proficiency test organized by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, primarily targeting non-English major students currently enrolled in universities. As more domestic employers increasingly require university graduates to pass the CET-4, or even the CET-6, the College English Proficiency Test has become one of the most important English proficiency tests in China. Among the sections of the test, reading comprehension carries the highest weight. Therefore, how to quickly improve reading skills within a limited time has become a major concern for many candidates. The author of this article has been engaged in frontline college English teaching and proficiency test tutoring for many years. They have translated all the reading test questions from the CET-4 (January 1997 to January 2002) into Chinese, as well as the questions and four options after each passage, to facilitate students' understanding of the answers. Additionally, brief solution explanations and genre analyses are provided. Another feature of this book is the concise grammatical analysis of complete sentences in each passage, with new words, sentence patterns, and relevant collocations listed separately to help students review vocabulary and grammar. In summary, the purpose of this book is to help readers achieve the requirements of the CET-4 reading test within a relatively short period. The book provides a clear grammatical analysis of the complete sentences in each passage, with new words, sentence patterns, and relevant collocations listed separately to facilitate students' review of vocabulary and grammar.
