What medication is best for candidal vulvovaginitis?

Patient's question:

Please ask: I have had candidal vulvovaginitis since July and have been using Miconazole and Furinol until now, but it has not improved. Is there any side effect of using Miconazole continuously? Should I switch to another medication?
First follow-up question: What happens if I have sexual intercourse during the treatment for vaginitis? Will having intercourse a few days before my period cause my period to come earlier?
Second follow-up question: Why did the doctor only ask me to use the two medications mentioned above instead of prescribing any medication?

Doctor's answer:

Candidal vulvovaginitis, primarily characterized by severe external genital itching, especially at night. The discharge is curd-like or cottage cheese-like. If the discharge test confirms candidal vulvovaginitis, you can rinse the vagina with baking soda water and use clotrimazole tablets to treat it.
Note:
1. Wear cotton underwear, maintain ventilation, and avoid sexual activity during treatment.
2. Do not overuse antibiotics, as they may kill bacteria but promote fungal growth.
3. Avoid using potassium permanganate solutions to clean the vagina, as it can disrupt the vaginal pH balance, leading to recurrence.
4. Do not eat foods and maintain a regular schedule.
