Patient's question:
[Condition Description: I want to ask how long does ectopic pregnancy usually take to show symptoms?]Doctor's answer:
Hello, generally the symptoms are not obvious. After the fetal death, irregular vaginal bleeding is often observed, with dark red color and small volume, usually not exceeding the menstrual flow. In a few cases, the vaginal bleeding is more substantial, similar to a menstrual period, and may be accompanied by the discharge of decidua fragments. Except for the interstitial part of the fallopian tube where the pregnancy is stopped, the time is usually 6 to 8 weeks. In 20% to 30% of patients, there is no obvious history of, or the menstrual period is only delayed by two or three days. Due to acute intra-abdominal bleeding and severe abdominal pain, mild cases may experience syncope, while severe cases may develop hypovolemic shock. The more and faster the bleeding, the more rapidly and severely the symptoms appear, but it is not proportional to the amount of vaginal bleeding.
