Works from the modern and contemporary periods are arranged in chronological order of publication, while the contemporary section, due to its rich selection, is organized by region and chronological order of publication. To reflect the breadth and richness of the series, no more than three works by the same author are included in the selection. Out of respect for the authors and history, the works included in this series are corrected only for obvious errors in spelling and punctuation in the original texts, with no arbitrary modifications made. Names and places in the translations are retained in their original forms.
