Features: Entering the new century, China's higher education is facing unprecedented development opportunities: The state has launched the "Education Revitalization Plan for the 21st Century" and fully implemented the "Decision on Deepening Education Reform and Comprehensively Promoting Quality Education"; the strategic decision of governing the country according to law, the call to arms of the Western Development Campaign, China's formal accession to the WTO, and the implementation of the National Unified Judicial Examination have all raised new challenges for the development of the legal system and higher legal education; how legal education can serve the Western Development Campaign is an era issue and a sacred mission that cannot be avoided by legal educators in the West. To adapt to the new situation, the School Textbook Editorial Committee has decided to publish a series of high-quality adult education textbooks with distinctive southwestern characteristics, reflecting the latest achievements in teaching and research of our university. The textbooks approved for this round include 9 titles: "Jurisprudence," "Criminal Law," "Criminal Procedure Law," "International Law," "Private International Law," "Intellectual Property Law," "Notarization and Lawyer System," "Chinese Tax Law," and "Marriage Law and Inheritance Law." Thanks to the strong support of Legal Press, these textbooks will be published and issued in the near future. The features of this series of textbooks are that they focus on explaining the basic theories and knowledge of each discipline, absorb the latest research achievements of each discipline, highlight the characteristics of adult education, and strive for scientificity, systematicity, and adaptability. This series of textbooks is intended for compulsory and elective courses in adult higher legal education, and can also be used as teaching materials for on-the-job training in judicial departments and for self-study in legal education.
