Features: Alain Le Quernec, a hybrid of Breton and Polish, is a highly politically conscious and formative artist. Over the past 30 years, he has created a large number of posters on politics, society, and culture, without surrendering to advertising. His graphic design "Manifestos" is often published in France's Le Monde. The "Design & Designer" series of books brings together graphic artists, designers, illustrators, and photographers from diverse backgrounds, guiding us through their representative works. Each monograph emphasizes the visual impact of the images and provides commentary on the characteristics of each artist's work.
After graduating from the Beaux-Arts in Paris, Alain Le Quernec began teaching painting. In the 1970s, he spent his time at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. During that period, he conducted research with painter and poster designer Henryk Tomaszewski, which had a decisive influence on his artistic career. From then on, his approach to space, language, and symbols aligned with the "requirements" of the Polish Academy. Upon returning to France, he settled and taught in Brittany. The traces of Brittany have had a lasting influence on his work, even becoming one of his main characteristics.
