Features: This series of books is compiled in accordance with the spirit of quality education for primary and secondary school students as instructed by the Ministry of Education of China, based on the new teaching and textbooks. The "Full-Time Compulsory Education Chinese Curriculum Standards" for grades five and six include the following requirements for reading skills:
1. Read texts correctly, fluently, and with emotion in Mandarin.
2. Read silently at a certain speed, with general reading material not less than 300 words per minute.
3. Use a dictionary to read and understand the appropriate meaning of words in context, distinguishing their emotional connotations.

5. In reading, grasp the logical sequence of the text, understand the author's emotions, and preliminarily grasp the basic writing methods. In communication and discussion, dare to express personal opinions and make independent judgments.
6. Read expository texts and identify key points, understanding the basic methods of explanation.
7. Read narrative works and summarize the main events, briefly describing the most memorable scenes, characters, details, and expressing personal feelings such as likes, dislikes, admiration, aspirations, and empathy. Read poems and grasp the general meaning, imagine the scenarios described, appreciate the poet's emotions, and be inspired and motivated by excellent works to pursue beautiful ideals.
8. Learn through travelogues to broaden knowledge and gather information as needed.
9. While understanding the text, recognize the different uses of commas, periods, semicolons, and colons.
10. Recite excellent poems and articles, paying attention to the content and emotions of the works through their tones, rhythms, etc. Memorize 60 excellent poems and articles.
11. Use libraries, the internet, and other information channels to attempt exploratory reading. Expand reading horizons, with a total extracurricular reading volume of no less than 1 million words.
This series emphasizes the understanding and mastery of basic concepts and principles; focuses on training fundamental knowledge and skills, centering on key and difficult points, comprehensively applying knowledge, and cultivating students' analytical and thinking abilities to comprehensively improve their reading skills.
