Features: In prosperous times, it inspires people to reach new heights; in adversity, it prompts the arrival of turning points, as Carnegie once said: A truly fulfilling life is not monotonous happiness, but one that has bravely faced misfortune. Perhaps life's path is not always paved with flowers but rather filled with thorns, piercing us unprepared and leaving us bleeding. At this moment, should we stop, retreat, and avoid; or should we forcefully remove the thorns and plant fragrant roses—this all depends on our choice. As Carnegie said: To master one's thoughts is the most complete and unparalleled gift from the Creator to humanity, and also humanity's greatest mystery. Life's path is not always filled with flowers but often covered in thorns, and a slight carelessness can leave people bleeding. At this moment, should we stagnate, retreat, and avoid, or bravely remove the thorns and plant fragrant roses—this all depends on people's own choice. Yet, how to choose often leaves people confused.
During my leisure time, I read one of the newly published youth motivational books by Hubei People's Publishing House titled Positive. It narrates, with profound meaning, how to overcome thorns in life, career, love, and marriage through vivid stories, dispelling people's confusion and serving as a "lingzhi" for all. Positive provides nourishment, like a gushing spring of sweet water flowing through a parched heart. It tells people that success is like sunlight hidden behind clouds, never directly shining on anyone's head. Only by clearing the clouds oneself can one gain a brilliant sky.
In today's society, many college and university graduates struggle to find good jobs and stay at home, complaining about their fate, believing that unemployment is due to their lack of a good family background and social connections, and thus give up on pursuing their dreams, relying on their parents. A philosopher once said, "Opportunities are." In other words, to clear the thorns on life's path requires active preparation. The famous Taiwanese cartoonist Cai Zhizhong said, "A person must rely on themselves to achieve success." In Positive, readers can see how Cai Zhizhong, who only completed junior high school and left home at 15 to make a name for himself in Taipei, discarded the "thick and black" philosophy and sought knowledge with passion, despite having no social background. The book conveys a truth: although the pursuit is arduous, gold will eventually shine.
For example, Wu Xiaoli, driven by unwavering determination and passion, rose from an unknown nobody to become a news anchor. Just when her career was at its peak, she voluntarily gave up her well-paying stable job and moved to Hong Kong to pursue her dreams. Because she didn't want to become a fat cat that couldn't catch mice.
In short, Positive presents a profound truth through vivid scenes: as long as one remains positive, with strength and belief in their heart, they will maintain an upward momentum, handle the frustrations of life and career correctly, and overcome the pain and sadness of life. They will bravely face the injuries and setbacks in life, career, and love. Otherwise, even a moment of laziness could push life, career, and love into a low point or destroy them, leaving lifelong regrets. Let us pick the "lingzhi" of Positive, open the door to our hearts, and with diligence and wisdom, stand at the peak of the waves, igniting the spark of our life's value!
