Features: This book consists of 11 parts, each a specialized topic. Part "The Scope and Methodology of Jurisprudence" includes "Law and Science" written by Dr. Zhang Demiao from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and "Law, Jurisprudence, Beauty, and Aesthetics" by Dr. Deng Shaoling from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. These contributions were completed based on their respective doctoral dissertations. Another paper, "A Reflection on the Future Direction of Jurisprudence," was written by me and presented at a national conference in 1999. The second and third parts, "Studies on Contemporary Legal Thought," include both international and domestic perspectives. The international section features "The Postmodern Turn in Current American Jurisprudence," written by me, which is a result of the Ed.D. program project "Contemporary Western Postmodern Jurisprudence." The domestic section includes "Contemporary Russian Legal Thought" by Dr. Zhang Junjie from Minzu University of China, "The Characteristics of Modern Japanese Theoretical Jurisprudence" by Dr. Chen Gen from the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and "Contemporary Social Democratic Legal Thought" by Dr. Yang Xiaoqing from Renmin University of China.
