Features: This is a concise management toolbook designed for dental hospital administrators, presenting the control of various management processes in the form of flowcharts (or tables) in a clear and systematic manner. The book provides two methods to guide readers in finding the management processes they are interested in: one is to look through the table of contents, and the other is that any content marked with an asterisk () in the flowcharts has its corresponding management flowchart or further process description in the book, allowing readers to continue searching and reading these management processes.
Explanation of symbols in flowcharts:
- : Indicates the start or end of a practical activity.
- : Represents the implementation of a practical activity.
- : Denotes supplementary notes for a practical activity.
- : Shows the direction of the process.
- : Indicates a selective activity within the process.
Key points in flowcharts are critical for quality control. Understanding and executing these points can achieve twice the result with half the effort. The purpose of using flowcharts in this book is to help managers establish a management mindset: any management content can be identified, analyzed, and key control points can be proposed in a process-oriented manner, making management systematic and standardized. However, application should be based on an analysis of the management content. Therefore, management processes are not fixed and must be continuously improved until they demonstrate effective management outcomes. If you understand the intended use of this book, learn to create your own management flowcharts, and achieve your management goals, we will celebrate your success together.
"A good learner exhausts the principles, a good practitioner investigates the difficulties." We hope readers can provide valuable suggestions on how to better apply this book, and we will appreciate even the smallest suggestion from every reader.
[Preface] Quality management is the core of all enterprise and institutional management. As a specialized hospital, dental hospitals have unique management characteristics. Focusing on quality management ensures the quality of medical services. In recent years, our hospital has emphasized quality management and introduced the standardized management requirements of ISO 9001:2000. Unlike experiential or human-centric management, standardized management increases the success rate of expected goals, improves efficiency, and reduces costs. Across the hospital, everyone has repeatedly studied and understood the requirements of standardized management, using process control methods to research daily work and compile flowcharts. The purpose is to instill standardized management requirements into all employees through flowcharts, enhancing their quality awareness, standard awareness, and patient-centric awareness, thereby promoting management to enter normal standardized operations.
There is no doubt that by identifying management processes and establishing a systematic quality management system, all hospital operations have clear responsibilities and goals, medical service processes and other processes are effectively monitored, and necessary records provide evidence and information for continuous improvement of work quality. The implementation of these management points has not only trained and improved the management level of administrative personnel but also enhanced the hospital's management efficiency and medical service quality, laying a solid foundation for further development.
This year, our hospital has proposed a series of goals to expand its operations while adhering to standardized management. Management is an applied technology with strong practicality, requiring managers' insight and continuous exploration. For example, we emphasize the importance of medical technology, reflecting the professional knowledge required of hospital presidents. In other areas, we have hired professional management consultants and legal consultants, establishing a stable professional management structure at the highest level that covers medical, management, and legal expertise. This is a measure taken based on our hospital's practices.
Another example is the "Basic Framework of Strategic Management" described in this book, which outlines the hospital's management operations. Relying solely on a standardized quality management system is insufficient; it also requires input from diversified management content. Only by organically integrating the two can an enterprise maintain vitality, which is also our practical experience.
This book describes the basic framework and management approach of our hospital's long-term quality management in a concise and intuitive manner. Due to the strong practicality of management, the book focuses on its application value, with limited detailed descriptions of specific management practices, which is determined by the individual circumstances of each hospital. The management processes and approaches described for each management content in the book are universal and can be referenced by dental hospital administrators as well as managers from other industries.
Another guiding principle in compiling this book is that it can be carried by managers at all times, easily accessible in a bag for reference and discussion anytime, anywhere. Therefore, the book is not lengthy, but its application value remains strong.
