Features: The People's Court is a television program jointly launched by the General Office of the Supreme People's Court and the Economic Channel of China Central Television (CCTV). With the of "Using cases to speak, promoting the standardized process of China's market economy," the program features cases that have been reviewed and recommended by the Supreme People's Court. The cases are diverse and highly typical. Since its launch in 2003, it has received widespread praise from the general audience and legal professionals. In response to the demands of the audience and legal professionals, the General Office of the Supreme People's Court and the Economic Channel of CCTV have compiled the program into a series of books—Economy and Law: Cases in Action. The book selects a variety of typical civil cases and is divided into four parts: Contract Disputes; Ownership, Tort, Unjust Enrichment, and Unjustified Management Disputes; Marriage and Family Disputes; and Special Procedure Cases, totaling 54 categories, along with some administrative and criminal cases. In addition to the case summaries, statements from the plaintiff and defendant parties, and defense opinions from their respective lawyers, the book also includes comments from legal experts and the presiding judges, as well as relevant legal provisions applied in the cases. The selected cases feature intense conflicts and strong storytelling, with clear legal reasoning in the judgments, making them suitable for accurate legal education. They serve as an excellent teaching material for popularizing legal knowledge and conducting legal education. Many of the classic cases from judicial practice provide valuable guidance and reference for judges and legal professionals at all levels of the courts.
