Features: "I must become a Pokémon Trainer in the world!" With this grand dream, Ash, accompanied by the adorable Pikachu, embarks on a journey of training. Along the way, he meets the traveling girl, Misty, and the Gym Leader of Slate Town, Brock, whom he becomes friends with after a friendly rivalry. The three of them, along with a Pokémon, continuously challenge Gyms across various regions to earn the badges needed to participate in the Pokémon League. Ash had previously lost to Nurse Joy and her Persian in Golden City. To defeat them, he befriends the Ghost Pokémon, Gengar, and challenges Nurse Joy again. Nurse Joy, who has no regard for her parents, is eventually made to laugh uncontrollably by the joke-loving Gengar, leaving her too weak to fight. Thus, Ash and his friends successfully earn the badge. Next, at the Rainbow City Gym, due to the villainous tactics of Team Rocket, a fire breaks out. Ash bravely rushes into the flames to save Pidgeotto. To express his gratitude, the Gym Leader presents Ash with the badge. Although it was a lucky turn of events, it was also a result of Ash and Pikachu's outstanding performance!
