Publishing Date: 2005-10-01
Features: This set of "French Grammar: French Made Easy" is divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. It progresses from the grammatical functions of parts of speech and verb tenses to sentence structure and logical relationships, gradually deepening from simple to complex. At the same time, it maintains a self-contained system, with sentence patterns in the beginner level and parts of speech and verb tenses in the advanced level. However, each level has different emphases in grammar explanations, and the accompanying exercises vary in difficulty. This book has the following features:
1. Explanations are concise and easy to understand. The explanations of key and difficult grammar points are presented in an outline format, providing learners with a clear overview of a linguistic phenomenon.
2. Examples are practical and closely tied to the practicality of the language. Every grammar rule explained in the book is accompanied by examples to help learners understand and apply the grammar point.
3. Exercises are innovative and rich in vocabulary. The exercises (with reference answers provided) are designed around the key and difficult points of the grammar rules, featuring diverse and lively formats with vocabulary that reflects contemporary French life.
4. "Notes" sections appear as needed. These are primarily used to supplement special usages of grammar points and unique linguistic phenomena. To make this book more suitable for Chinese learners, the translators made the following changes:
1. The original book used the new spelling rules adopted and recommended by the Collège de France, which involves the omission of diacritics in 20 basic French words. Considering that this new spelling rule has not yet been implemented in China, the translators restored the diacritics in the examples and exercises.
2. To make the book more concise, easier to understand, and better suited to Chinese learners' needs, the translators made minor deletions or additions to the original text, examples, and exercises.
