Features: Su San has not fallen into the "cultural stutter." She speaks more fluently about her beliefs than her predecessors because she was fortunate enough to avoid the academic persecution of the authoritarian era and became a historical narrator of the new century. Su San's views may have numerous flaws, yet they signify a revival of Guo Jiegang-style "free history." Chinese historians are beginning to reconstruct an independent "doubting ancient history" stance. (Excerpted from "Nanfangchuang")—Zhu Dake, a renowned Chinese cultural critic
Su San's views may be difficult to accept. She is radical and far removed from traditional academic perspectives. It may take a hundred years for traditional scholars to accept her views, but I agree with some of her perspectives on the Sanxingdui site. Chinese historians, however, will not think the way she does. Despite lacking a background in history, it is clear she has done extensive research, and her book is certainly not baseless (Translated from "ShanghaiDaily")—Jiang Xiaoyuan, Dean of the School of Humanities and Director of the Department of the History of Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University
This book is a work that elaborates on the "Western Origin Theory of Chinese Civilization." The author makes bold hypotheses and speculations about the origins of human civilization, particularly the origins of the Chinese nation: it belongs to an alien civilization, with its source in the "West." The book includes over a hundred precious illustrations, focusing on the following questions: Why did the ancient Phoenicians, who originated from the Mediterranean and Red Sea regions and were skilled in navigation, lack a state? Where did this nation disappear in the course of history? What was their relationship with the ancient Semites, Israelites, Celts, and the Etruscans of Italy, who lived in different regions and eras? What was their connection with the ancient Chinese dynasties of Xia, Shang, and Zhou? How were the ancient civilizations of Southern Europe, North Africa, Southeast Asia, and West Asia interconnected and developed? Did the Phoenicians participate in the construction of the Shang Dynasty in ancient China?
Unbelievable: The Shang Dynasty and the Phoenicians
