Features: Secrets of the Nationalist Party's Military and Political High Command—286 senior generals from the Republic of China era step out from behind the historical curtain. This book insists on objective historical facts, major events, and major battles. Whether it's the ups and downs or the rise and fall, it speaks with facts. The history and military history of the Republic of China era are intricate and complex, with many historical materials little known. Especially for major events that are hard to conclude and controversial Nationalist Party senior leaders, they were sealed and strictly forbidden from reporting after the founding of the People's Republic of China, becoming historical mysteries rarely explored. Decades later, major events behind the scenes of the Republic of China and high-ranking figures reappear on the stage, restoring history. This book is of great significance as the first systematic discussion of the military and political careers of senior Republic of China generals and major events since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It includes nearly 300 senior generals from the Republic of China era. Most of them were awarded the ranks of general or lieutenant general between 1935 and 1949. Some, though with lower ranks, participated in major historical events or held special identities. Some defected and joined the People's Liberation Army after the victory in the War of Resistance, becoming senior commanders of the People's Liberation Army; others joined the Communist Party of China. These generals who joined the Communist Party had their past experiences, so they are included in the introduction. The book is divided into two main parts: the General Officers' Chapter and the Lieutenant General Officers' Chapter. The General Officers' Chapter includes (Special Class General), (First Class General), and (Posthumously Awarded First Class General), (Second Class General), and (Posthumously Awarded Second Class General), (General), and (Posthumously Awarded General), as well as (Lieutenant General with General Rank) and (Lieutenant General with General Treatment). The Lieutenant General Officers' Chapter includes (Lieutenant General) and (Posthumously Awarded Lieutenant General). The General Officers' Chapter is arranged in chronological order of their military rank, while the Lieutenant General Officers' Chapter is arranged by surname in alphabetical order. The book narrates the life experiences of the generals included, adhering to time as the vertical axis and their main positions and activities in each period as the horizontal axis, ensuring that the facts speak for themselves and are clear to readers at a glance. In line with the principles of respecting history and seeking truth from facts, this book strives to clearly distinguish between merits and demerits when introducing either anti-communist or anti-people generals, or those who defected, surrendered, or contributed to peaceful uprisings. It avoids both concealment and exaggeration. At the same time, it introduces their roles in major historical events and important battles.
