Features: The Siege of Baideng depicts how the XiongnuMaudun worked diligently to strengthen his nation, leading the Xiongnu to grow increasingly powerful. After defeating the Donghu, he also annihilated the neighboring Yuezhi. In the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu of Han, Maudun allied with the surrendered King Xian of Han and launched a southern attack on Taiyuan Commandery, reaching Jinling. Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang led a 320,000-strong army north to resist the enemy. Maudun hid his elite troops and lured them with a weak force, but Liu Bang, underestimating the threat, advanced with an isolated army and was encircled by 400,000 Xiongnu cavalry on Baideng Mountain. Later, Chen Ping devised a plan and bribed Maudun's beloved wife, Lady Laxia, with substantial gifts, allowing the Han army to escape.
