New learning philosophy, practical communication skills. The new TOEFL has broken through traditional exams in both format and content. Many candidates who take the new TOEFL simulation tests organized by our company report a lack of understanding of the new TOEFL exam. The focus of this series is to provide candidates and readers with a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the new TOEFL exam. Through tutorial-style learning books, readers will become familiar with the requirements of the new TOEFL in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In the form of extensive exercises and tutorial lectures, learners will effectively improve their English proficiency. This book is divided into four chapters:
Chapter 1 introduces the new TOEFL writing, analyzes the differences between new and old TOEFL writing, clarifies the guiding principles behind new TOEFL writing questions, explains the writing skills required by candidates for the new TOEFL, and discusses the scoring standards for new TOEFL writing as well as how candidates should approach the new TOEFL writing exam.
Chapter 2 focuses on mastering language fundamentals. It guides test-takers to present arguments, enrich content, organize essays, and connect paragraphs while helping them use words and sentences correctly to improve the overall quality of their writing. The editors, guided by effective theories and research in linguistics and language teaching, analyze errors collected from students' writing over the years from three levels—vocabulary, grammar, and cohesion—to identify the root causes of these errors.
Chapter 3 is practical exercises.
Chapter 4 is mock tests, including fourteen sets of new TOEFL writing simulation questions for candidates to practice. An analysis and annotations of these simulation questions are provided at the end of the book for candidates to refer to during their preparation.
