Features: This book is one of the research achievements of the author's 2003 National Philosophy and Social Science Fund project titled "National Cultural Security of China under Open Conditions." National cultural security of China is a completely new topic in theory, practice, and policy, and no comprehensive and systematic research has been conducted on it yet. In February 2000, my first research paper on national cultural security, titled "National Cultural Security: Policies for the Development of China's Cultural Industry under Economic Globalization," was published in the second issue of Academic Monthly that year and was reprinted in the sixth issue of New China Digest. It drew significant attention from relevant authorities. On October 10, 2002, my second research paper on national cultural security, titled "Ensuring China's National Cultural Security in the Process of Active Development," was published in Arts News. These two papers can be considered the outline of my systematic research on China's national cultural security issues. The development of these papers was warmly encouraged by many friends in academia. Support from various sectors and the practical need for research on national cultural security were the key motivations for me to apply to the National Philosophy and Social Science Fund for project approval.
