Features: This chronicle is guided by Marxism, Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, and the Important Thought of Three Represents. It adheres to the perspectives of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, objectively records the history and current status of the construction, management, and development of Shitouhe Reservoir and its irrigation projects. It strives to highlight key points, reflect authenticity, and achieve unity in ideological, scientific, and documentary aspects, with the purpose of governing, preserving history, and enlightening people. The chronicle is organized in horizontal categories, with a comprehensive review covering the entire history, starting from the inception of the events and ending in late 2002, with some exceptions extended to the final publication. Written in modern Chinese, the chronicle uses a topical style for major events, combining the chronological and narrative methods. Except for overviews, only facts are recorded without commentary, embedding viewpoints within the narrative. Text and numbers are written according to the "General Table of Simplified Chinese Characters" and relevant regulations issued by the National Language Commission. Generally, legal units of measurement are used, with some exceptions following historical conventions. Elevation, unless otherwise noted, is measured based on the Yellow Sea Level.
