Features: In recent months, avian flu has become a topic of increasing concern. Almost all international authoritative institutions and experts have agreed that avian flu is no longer a question of whether it will break out, but rather when it will break out. However, what exactly is avian flu? How severe is its threat? What measures can we take to prevent its spread? Or how can we save ourselves if it has already spread? This book is an authoritative popular science read addressing all the aforementioned questions, and it is also the first medical knowledge book on avian flu introduced into China. Due to the highly positive and specific suggestions and methods provided in the book, it is suitable for everyone to read.
When the avian flu pandemic strikes, this book, which is the first topic book specifically launched for avian flu, shone brilliantly at the Frankfurt Book Fair this year. Some content in the book, as well as many reports in the news media, remind people of those movies predicting the end of the world and the few survivors who wish to continue human civilization. If H5N1 begins to rage as we fear, then millions of lives will be lost. The impact this will have on society will be immense. However, even the mortality rate estimated by the author is only 6 to 8 percent of the total population. This rate is certainly not comparable to the scenarios revealed in those films. Moreover, epidemics come quickly but also fade quickly, so those who survive will soon be able to rebuild their lives.
If we are willing to face the risks and make cautious plans based on the actual situation, the impact it will have on each of us and the overall society will be mitigated.
