Features: Regarding the dialectical approach of this book, "congruence" and "paradox" are two key terms I value. I believe that when the field of economic transition faces another task of "replacing the old with the new" in terms of ideology, it is, in fact, grappling with changed realities, oscillating between "what fits and what doesn't," "what is right and what is wrong." When it comes to the question of what economic transition is and what it should be, people sometimes seem very clear, sometimes seem very clear, and sometimes feel quite unclear. Or, some aspects that were once thought to be clear may again feel uncertain when faced with new practical insights. Based on this, we might regard the economic transition—a transformation that is broad in scope, far-reaching in impact, and without precedent—as a grand experiment oscillating between congruence and paradox. Every practitioner and researcher involved in it with a scientific spirit is a worthy explorer. This is a monograph that takes the practices of transition countries, particularly China, as its background to explore the methodology of economic transition research. The book is divided into three parts. The first part, General Theory, discusses the general meaning of transition research methodology; the second part, Specific Analysis, focuses on elaborating three basic viewpoints I hold regarding what economic transition is and what it should be; the third part, Application, is both an application of the general methodological innovation in the first part and an empirical examination of the second part, consisting of three chapters.
